Tree Rat
There is nothing I dislike more than photos of brown animals and my least favorite are squirrels. I don't dislike squirrels exactly, just wasting photos of them and finding them proudly displayed on friends websites! So, I happened upon this mangy thing in my backyard and thought of my friend Mario in Montreal who is the biggest offender of this. His squirrel photos are WAY better(supposing there's a rating system for crappy squirrel photos)... he cares more about getting them just right and capturing the essence of squirrel life.
Me? After I quickly snapped this picture and posted it here, I deleted all traces of the rat-like animal from my computer. This guy was far above me and I shot it at 450mm to keep my distance. Although I always secretly wish one will jump at Mario so he'll stop taking pictures of them, I didn't want it to happen to me. Just thinking about it made me scream like a girl and run into the house.
So, to my friend Mario... I was thinking about you buddy and this one's for you!

well, i share mario's fascination with squirrels merely because we don't have them back in the philippines.. but not to the point of having them as the main character/subject in a photoblog.. :D that's one cute critter shot.. :D
Two times I read your story and cannot believe you dislike these little cute creatures :) ha ha You know, very first day when I came to Canada and saw them everywhere on the streets I thought I am in village not in city :)
