Not Palletable
Wooden Pallets
New Jersey and, I'm sure everywhere else is littered with these things. Thousands piled high at one trucking company at the pier alone. They lay around, rot and form all sorts of bacteria. They shelter rodents and other vermin and have a short life expectancy
How are they recycled? They are sold to people to use as compost or burned. Not only are they made from trees but the burning of them can't be great.
Companies need to switch to recycled plastic pallets. They are made from already recycled plastic and can be further recycled when their life expectancy is complete. They wash easily and don't contract bacterias and mold. They are also stronger than wooden pallets. Since it's a one time purchase and replacement is rareley necessary, it would wind up saving money as well. A lot of money.
Although no one likes government intervention, this may be a small place to throw some in. It makes good sense.
